K2 Mobility wins IAA Startup Award 2026

Recognition for an integrated approach to managing the growing operational complexity of electric fleets.

K2 Mobility GmbH has won the inaugural IAA Startup Award powered by Plug and Play at IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026 in Hannover.

Selected as one of five finalists, K2 Mobility competed alongside ANYLIFT, COMPREDICT, Deep Fusion AI and Quanten Technologies before being named the winner on September 16. The award recognizes outstanding startups and forward-looking solutions for the transport and logistics industry.

As commercial fleets electrify and scale, operational complexity increases. Vehicle availability, transport schedules, charging infrastructure and energy requirements need to be coordinated to keep vehicles ready for operation while managing charging and energy costs.

K2 Mobility addresses this challenge through Integrated Charge Management, an integrated approach that brings together fleet, transport, charging and energy requirements across electric fleet operations. PANION, K2 Mobility’s software platform, provides the digital foundation for coordinating these interdependencies across fleet operations.

“We are delighted to receive the IAA Startup Award. The award highlights the importance of looking beyond charging management when scaling electric fleets. Fleet, transport, charging and energy need to work together as one operational system.”

— Dr. Ulrich Kalex, co-CEO of K2 Mobility GmbH, who represented the company in the award final

The IAA Startup Award was presented for the first time in 2026 as part of the IAA TRANSPORTATION Startup Day and is powered by Plug and Play.

About k2.mobility

K2 Mobility GmbH is a technology company based in Potsdam that develops software solutions for the economically viable operation of heavy electric commercial vehicle and bus fleets. With the cloud-based SaaS platform PANION, k2.mobility integrates transport management, vehicle telemetry, charging infrastructure and the power grid in real time.

In its Integrated Charge Management, PANION links central operational data such as tour schedules, departure and arrival times, routes, charge points and battery states, and uses this to optimise dynamic charging plans. In doing so, the platform closes a gap in existing systems that were developed for diesel operations and cannot represent the requirements of electric fleets.

As an intelligent charging and energy management system, PANION is already used by companies such as ASKO/NorgesGruppen, Amazon ATS, DSV, Posten Bring and Hansea.
