Potsdam, 1 July 2026 – k2.mobility, provider of software solutions for the electrification of heavy commercial vehicle fleets, is entering into a collaboration with Eco Grid Innovations (EGI) in the Netherlands as of 1 July 2026. Going forward, the cloud-based SaaS platform PANION by k2.mobility will be integrated into the EGI ecosystem, so that charging infrastructure, energy and fleet management are controlled via one seamless solution.
Grid capacity is becoming a growing challenge: a look at the Netherlands
The electrification of truck fleets – together with other developments in the Netherlands – is placing an increasing strain on the power grid. Grid capacity therefore represents a major challenge for the further electrification of vehicle fleets.
More than 15,000 large consumers in the Netherlands are now on the waiting list for a new or more powerful grid connection. As structural improvements are not expected until after 2030, intelligent solutions for energy and charging management are an essential prerequisite for the further electrification of vehicle fleets.
Operations, charging infrastructure and energy systems in harmony
Eco Grid Innovations has extensive experience in the logistics industry and offers energy solutions from A to Z. Its portfolio includes charging infrastructure, solar installations and battery energy storage systems (BESS), including mobile deployments. With the integration of the proven PANION platform for charging and fleet management, customers now benefit from an end-to-end solution covering the entire energy chain.
"When electrifying heavy commercial vehicle fleets, what matters most is the right integration of the systems. Charging infrastructure, energy systems and the requirements of day-to-day logistics operations have to be perfectly aligned. Customers not only save on peak-load costs, but also make optimal use of the available grid capacity while ensuring reliable operations at the same time."
— Markus Kröger, Co-CEO of k2.mobility
"The energy transition in the transport sector needs more than just the right infrastructure. What is decisive is the intelligent interplay of energy supply and operational processes. In k2.mobility we have found a partner that makes exactly that possible. Together, we support our customers in taking the step from initial pilot projects to scalable and future-proof e-mobility solutions."
— Niek de Kat, CEO and owner of Eco Grid Innovations
About k2.mobility
K2 Mobility GmbH is a technology company based in Potsdam that develops software solutions for the economically viable operation of heavy electric commercial vehicle and bus fleets. With the cloud-based SaaS platform PANION, k2.mobility integrates transport management, vehicle telemetry, charging infrastructure and the power grid in real time.
In its Integrated Charge Management, PANION links central operational data such as tour schedules, departure and arrival times, routes, charge points and battery states, and uses this to optimise dynamic charging plans. In doing so, the platform closes a gap in existing systems that were developed for diesel operations and cannot represent the requirements of electric fleets.
As an intelligent charging and energy management system, PANION is already used by companies such as ASKO/NorgesGruppen, Amazon ATS, Schenker, Posten Bring and Hansea.
